Warranty, Terms & Conditions

  1. Warranty: Galet provides a comprehensive 12-month manufacturing warranty on all new furniture products sold. This warranty becomes effective from the date you receive your product. The warranty covers furniture items only, and shipping costs are not included.

  2. Damages in Transit: Any damages observed during transit or when unpacking the cartons must be noted on the delivery paperwork and reported to us within 24 hours. Please refrain from assembling the product before contacting us in such cases.

  3. Statutory Rights: Our terms and conditions do not limit any statutory rights available to Australian consumers under the Australian Consumer Law concerning the product.

  4. Domestic Use Only: All warranties are conditional upon the product's use for family domestic purposes only and do not apply to commercial use.

  5. Commencement of Warranties: Warranties commence from the date you receive your product and are not transferable to new owners if the product is sold.

  6. Maintenance Requirements: To maintain the warranty, you must adhere to Galet's specifications and recommendations found on our website. Failure to do so, such as using unauthorised cleaning products or allowing improper use, may void the warranty.

  7. Timber Surface Cracks and Natural Stone Variations: Timber surface cracks and natural variations in stone, marble, and other materials are considered normal and do not affect the product's structural integrity, thus not covered by the warranty.

  8. Teak Thermal Expansion: Warranty does not cover timber thermal expansion, which may be influenced by environmental conditions.

  9. Inherent Features of the Product: Filled and unfilled holes, as well as veins in timber, stone, and marble pieces, are inherent features and not considered faults.

  10. Product Modifications: Any modifications made to Galet products will void the warranty.

  11. Use of Approved Accessories: Only fittings and accessories provided by Galet should be used with Galet products to avoid invalidating the warranty.

  12. Exclusions from Warranty: Our warranty does not cover ordinary wear and tear, such as discolouration, staining, or chipping, nor does it extend to damage caused by transportation, abuse, misuse, alterations, pests, pets, weather-related incidents, or other natural phenomena.

  13. Handling of Heavy and Fragile Materials: Stone products are heavy and fragile in nature. Children should be supervised by an adult while handling these items to ensure safety. Galet will not be liable for any injury or breakage caused by mishandling or improper use.

  14. Limited Liability: In the event of a fault covered by the warranty, Galet's liability is limited to the repair or replacement of the faulty part at our discretion.

  15. Proper Moving and Installation: Caution should be exercised when moving Galet pieces around your home to avoid breaking or damaging them. Galet is not responsible for damages caused by incorrect moving, dropping, or impact on the product.

  16. Improper Use of Products: Using Galet products in ways not in line with their designed purpose or use, such as leaning, sitting, or standing on them, will immediately void the warranty.

  17. Professional Installation Recommendations: Galet recommends using a trade professional for installation and fixing of certain products, such as slabs and tiles. Damage or injury resulting from insufficient fixing will not be covered under the warranty.

  18. Warranty Voiding Conditions: The warranty will be voided if damage is caused by transportation not arranged by Galet, abuse, misuse, failure to follow instructions, alterations, unauthorised repairs, use of toxic cleaning products, non-reported issues, pests, household pets, failure to maintain the product, extreme weather conditions, mould, natural fungi, acts of God, or use in a non-household setting.

  19. Discolouration of Equipment: Warranty does not cover discolouration of equipment. Products stored outside should be kept out of direct sunlight and covered.

  20. Consumable or Expendable Parts: Colour variations in consumable or expendable parts, such as handles and plastic accessories, are normal and not considered faults.

  21. Australian Consumer Law: Our warranty policy does not limit or exclude any guarantees, warranties, representations, or conditions implied or imposed by law, including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). As a consumer under the ACL, you have certain rights and remedies for faulty products.

  22. Reporting Faults: Any faults must be reported within 24 hours of receiving the item. Please email us at info@galet.com.au with images of the damage, your order number, and any relevant details for prompt resolution.

By purchasing Galet products, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
